Luana Howard, the Kiwi-born ex-opera singer and perfumer, is a pioneering force in the fragrance industry with over a decade of experience creating custom fragrances for brands and individuals across Australia.

After embarking on their aromatic journey in 2016 under the tutelage of a professional French-style Perfumer in Melbourne, Australia, they founded By Luis - Scent Design, specialising in custom and bespoke 1:1 fragrances and private label fragrance manufacturing.

Their skill set encompasses product development, graphic design, marketing, and the design, formulation, and manufacturing of fragrances for diverse clientele across Australia.

This commitment to excellence shone through when a fragrance they designed and manufactured for a client secured a remarkable achievement — winning a place in the 2022 Annual Clean Beauty Awards.

This accolade is a testament to Luana's dedication to creating high-quality, award-winning fragrances that resonate with clients and industry standards alike.Beyond their human fragrance ventures, Luana also founded two additional fragrance brands within the pet product space, combining their love of perfumery and animals.

Luana's initial fascination with fragrance stemmed from the neuroscience behind our sense of smell. After recognising that the sense of smell is directly connected to memory via strong emotional experiences, a seed was sewn. Luana's passion is creating fragrances that evolve and embed memories and emotional experiences in others.
