What you'll do
Join us at Forager’s Nest Art Space for this two-hour workshop with local artist Caitlin Healy, where you'll learn to use a piercing saw, drill, and hand tools to create beautiful copper leaves from sheet metal.During this informative and hands-on class, you will learn the basics of metalsmithing to make 2D shapes and objects from copper. Using a blowtorch, you will heat-treat the copper to draw out the stunning colours + patina of this incredible material.At the end of the session, take home your completed copper creations as well as the skills and knowledge to continue your jewellery-making endeavours.Please aim to arrive 10 minutes prior to this workshop.About Your TutorCaitlin Healy of 'Flame & Pickle' is a jewellery + small objects maker and doting mother of 3, who has been creating her jewellery for over 15 years. She has taught several private and sponsored workshops in her time as an artist, at venues such as the Woodford Folk Festival. Caitlin loves using low-tech tools and techniques and prioritises the repurposing + recycling of materials wherever possible for low-impact making.
