What you'll do

Join us for a fun social, bouquet making class in Adelaide, where you will learn how to put together a bunch of flowers from start to finish.

During this hands-on experience, you'll be using all freshly sourced flowers and foliage from our Adelaide Flower Farmers and wholesalers, to create your beautiful bouquet. Immerse yourself in the creative space of Poppies Flowers and take in the beauty of the flowers while learning a new skill.

No previous experience is necessary, as Mary will guide you step by step through the design and creation process so you'll achieve your very own handcrafted floral bouquet to take home.

With 30 years in the floral industry, Mary’s passion for flowers began at a young age, she would always pick the first rose bloom direct from the family garden. Having always loved the fragrance, colour and sheer delight that flowers give, she naturally headed into floristry.

Mary is the founder and owner of Poppies Flowers, located in the inner northern suburbs of Adelaide. If you pop into the studio, you’ll be sure to be guided into the perfect flower choice for your requirements.

A firm favourite style is the timeless ‘Victorian posy’, a classic compact design of petite blooms, fragrant herbs and of course roses. Another of Mary’s specialities is wrist corsages –creating wearable flower designs to match and enhance the outfits of the wearer. Many an Adelaide Formal attendee will have at one point or another worn or presented a bespoke ‘Mary Read’ corsage.
