Dive into post-production in Premiere or Resolve. Figure out the basics, learn current style trends, and polish your skills for the big screen.
This 3-lesson course is designed to equip you with the skills you need to rock any project. Learn the basic skills and standards of an editor, experiment with animation and colour grading as we take you through how to edit for our era of content, and take on a larger scale project to understand what it takes to build a film or documentary.
Our lessons run on a two-week cycle as follows:
Module 1: Essentials [Tuesday 6pm]
We keep it simple to start. Learn best practices for managing footage, importing files, setting up your timelines and how to work with tracks. Apply effects and transitions, and understand how to manage audio. And learn how to extract your projects to share with the world.
Module 2: Editing for Video [Thursday 6pm]
Work through the best practices for the world of online video. Learn the current trends on social media and YouTube to ensure you’re hitting the key points audiences are looking for. Explore basic animation techniques and use your newfound skills to begin editing a full-scale project in different formats.
Module 3: Editing for the Big Screen [Tuesday 6pm]
The world of cinema is a whole different ball game, and we want to equip you with the skills to work across both. Learn the additions that Directors look for, how to cut to please the eye, and things to avoid when taking on the big screen. Put your skills to the test and recut an iconic scene to change the story entirely.
