During this course, you'll learn the basics of wheel throwing and gain confidence with clay. No experience is necessary - this class is perfect for beginners! You'll learn how to prepare clay, center, open, and create cylinders and bowls. You'll also learn about trimming and adding handles to your pieces.
Here's a breakdown of what you'll learn each week:
  • Week One: Get familiar with clay and learn how to prepare it. Discover how the wheel works and practice centering and opening. By the end of the session, you'll have made your very own cup!
  • Week Two: Learn the art of trimming and add a handle to your cup. Understand the difference between cylinders and bowls and create your own beautiful bowls.
  • Week Three: Explore the technique of trimming a foot ring and discover how to throw on a bat. Create stunning plates to add to your collection.
  • Week Four: Master the art of trimming a double foot ring. Get creative by making bottles and learn the basics of glazing.
  • Week Five: Learn how to trim bottles and discover different glazing techniques to give your pieces a unique finish.
Throughout this course, you'll be working with top-quality materials and guided by experienced instructors. Don't worry if you're new to pottery - this class is designed to be fun and stress-free.
